Nerve Blocks - Epidural Blocks (translaminar or transforaminal)
An epidural block is an injection of local anesthetic and steroid into the epidural space for the purposes of pain relief and reduction of inflammation.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia. It generally takes only fifteen to twenty minutes. Using x-ray guidance the interventional radiologist injects local anesthetic and steroid through the needles that are located at the appropriate areas.
